In The Garden at Waiahole Nursery, you will find a variety of flowering and fruiting plants that make wonderful gifts and beautiful additions to your home, yard and lanai. Curb side pick-up and remote payment options are available as we continue to stay healthy in 2022 and beyond.
The nursery specializes in small potted tropical plants and fruit trees, many of which are propagated using organic practices in a 6,000 gallon aquaponic systems and grown without the use of chemicals and harsh pesticides. Plants include: anthuriums, bromeliads, croton, dracaena, ferns, fruit trees, ginger, hibiscus, heliconia, monstera, orchids, pathos, plumeria, sansevierias, succulents, and ti leaves.
Edible options such as herbs, roots, and trees are available for purchase. Call ahead to check our current inventory of bountiful fruiting plants from Plant It Hawaii located on the Big Island. Ask to be put on a customer request list, for our next order, shipping soon!
Succulents and cactus are a favorite at Waiahole Nursery and are available in 2"-4" plastic pots. Upgrade to a (gently) used terracotta pot or book a private workshop and join us for pot painting and succulent garden arranging. Learn about succulent care and propagation and take home a beautiful new plant for your home or office. These wonderful little plants can be pre-ordered in bulk and make excellent party favors or decoration for your next special event.
Historically, the property was an orchid nursery, "Orchid's of Waiahole" and many of the original orchids still live in our orchid garden grown for The Florist at Waiahole Nursery. Potted and packaged dendrobium, cattleya, and phalaenopsis orchids are available, seasonally.
A small variety of indoor plants are available on a weekly-bases and dish garden and live plant arrangements are available for order for pick-up or (local) delivery through The Florist at Waiahole Nursery.
Occasionally you can find something unique and interesting in the garden as plants enter the garden through various donations by friends, family, and our garden ohana (family). Sorry- not everything is for sale (at this time).
The Nursery is continually planting plants in the ground to for The Florist and prides itself on providing sustainable floral options for every occasion. The Nursery encourages you to plant edible plants and to share your bounty with your friends, family, and coworkers.
The Nursery offers a variety of edible and ornamental plants packaged and ready for travel for our visitors and ohana (family) on the Mainland. These packaged plants are pre-certified for shipping or travel with a stamp of approval from the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. The Nursery can not guarantee that potted plants that that are not pre-approved for travel will pass a state inspection. To increase the probability your plant will be approved for travel you might consider shipping it bare-rooted in a plastic bag with some damp newspaper or cotton material. FRUIT TREES
We carry a large selection of fruit trees cultivated by Plant It Hawaii. Most varieties are grafted from mature trees and will flower and fruit within a year of planting. The average size is 3 gallons and the trees range in height from 2' to 4' tall. Contact us to special order mature trees or to be added to our customer-request list.
