Thank you for considering Waiahole Nursery & Garden Center for your special event! We would love to talk to you, directly about your event needs and help build you a customized package that meets your specific needs. Please find some general guidelines for our events, outlined, below. We can’t wait to help you host a beautiful and memorable event! We require a minimum of 12 guests or a minimum purchase of $2,500 for all weddings and $400 for all elopements of 5 or fewer people. We are open to host your party, with a start time before 5pm and duration of 6 hours or less. All events must end at 10pm sharp.
Our restaurant, The Garden Bistro, is happy to provide farm-fresh dining for your party with guests up to 50 persons. For groups up of 50-75 people, outside catering must be provided from our approved vendor list. For larger parties, appetizers, sides and salads may be ordered from our restaurant. Outside food, drinks, and deserts are welcome for all weddings and special events.
Unless an approved outside vendor is requested for catering, or with groups over 50 guests, Waiahole Nursery and staff will handle all food service operations for the guests. Approved vendors and food trucks may gain access to our commercial kitchen at 5pm or later for parties over 50 people, or otherwise requested.
We want to offer you the very best value and service for your special day by including as many perks and conveniences as possible in our wedding and event packages. Instead of having expensive “add-on” items, we want you to let us know what perks to “remove” from your package- if any!? When you book your wedding with Waiahole Nursery & Garden Center, we commit to providing the following items for your special day:
Beach front property with beach access for ceremony ($50 park-use fee) and photo opportunities.
Beautifully staged “photo ops” around our property. Wooden bridge, surfboard wall, fountain backdrop, and tiki hut.
Nicely manicured lawns and lush tropical landscape including dead leaf/limb and weed removal prior to the event.
Wooden Arch is included with the venue. Have a carpenter in the family? Planning to build your own custom arch? Or have your heart set-on an edgy new design? No problem, just let our coordinators know so that we can have our arch removed or choose a different ceremony site.
Deep cleaned restrooms are available in the gift shop lobby. Our bathroom facility, open to all guests include three uni-sex toilets, one diaper changing table, and one private shower stall with hot running water. This shower is useful for those eager helpers who want to chip in to get the venue “party ready” but want to freshen-up before the big event.
Variety of ceremony and reception spaces to choose from.
Getting ready spaces for both the bride and groom. The spaces differ depending on the bride’s needs and size of the wedding party.
Wash room (shower with hot water) for guest “helpers” for D.I.Y. brides.
Bridal Suite- private entrance, includes a large, well lit room, with mirrored double door closets, with attached bathroom with shower. Included with all deluxe packages.
Groom Suite- This space has “the works,” card table, playing cards, books, magazines, cable TV, mini fridge, and a private dressing room with bathroom and walk-in shower. Included with all weddings.
Reclaimed pallet wood, hand-built, bar with serving station & umbrella stand or small tarp covering.
Buffets on wheels- choose from two different style 16’ buffet stations (two 8’ buffets) with tropical feel or plain wood tables that you can dress-up with custom table coverings.
Reclaimed pallet wood dining tables (two total) that seats up to 15 guests (perfect for rehearsal dinners) can be used as a table or a buffer/gift table/ sign-in table, etc.
Wooden picnic tables- arranged in family style seating.
Portable MC system.
Tables and chairs for use with every venue rental. Choose from small round (seats 5), rectangle (6 foot).
Day-of event coordinator ready to direct and assist your vendors with any issues that may arise.
We provide you with a list of vetted and reliable professional vendors to execute your perfect wedding day.
We accept shipments for you and store your custom decorations, favors, and more for up-to one month prior to the event.
One-stop shop for all of your destination wedding needs. We provide many services under one roof, to save you time and stress of planning your dream wedding. We offer full flower service, catering, and customized wedding favors.
We provide assistance with coordinating rentals for your big day. Popular items include: table settings, fabric for draping
We welcome our brides, grooms, and wedding party (including moms and dads) to have access to the getting ready space starting at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the event. A guest list of names of wedding party & vendors must be submitted for access to the bride and groom suite. No one on the list will be permitted entry.
Depending on the start-time, we welcome any helpers for D.I.Y. brides to help with final touches of personalized items and set-up 4 hours prior to event start time.
Guest Parking: Our facility can handle a maximum of 45 parked cars. We encourage our patrons to provide a third party transportation to and from the venue- especially for events where alcohol will be served. The parking for the venue is primarily in the front of the property, and the less cars parked at the venue, the more spectacular the photo opportunities!
Passenger Drop-off: A 3rd-party valet driver will be required for parties expecting greater than 35 cars.
Limo/Bus Parking: Parallel parking is available in our parking lot. We encourage the use of buses for guests and provide a free bar rental for couples who use a shuttle service for their guests. *We can assist with booking private transportation
Self Parking: Guests will have the option to self park, if less than 30 cars are expected.
Valet: We recommend that you hire a valet for guest parking. Valet is required for parties expecting more than 30 cars. Waiahole Nursery & Garden Center is not responsible for any damage or theft of personal vehicles and property.
Catering: Waiahole Garden Bistro offers entrees, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, shave ice, baked goods, fruit, local hot and iced coffee, and canned beverages. All food will be served on reusable and/or disposable banana leaf plates and bamboo flatware, depending on menu items ordered, unless otherwise specified. Rentals may be acquired by our partners, for an additional expense.
Placing Food Orders:
All orders must be received 30 days in advance of your event date to ensure quality and availability of menu items, for guest lists over 25. For guest lists, under 25 people, all orders must be received 15 days in advance.
We will not accept last minute orders.
We will attempt to accommodate any last minute changes to your order, if changes are submitted no later than 72 hours the day before your scheduled event.
Last minute changes may be subject to an additional charge.

Menu Options: Meals are served plated or buffet-style One menu item choice per 25 guests. *We are happy to accommodate all dietary substitutions. Please see our Event Menu and Preferred Vendor list for options
Cocktail Hour: A beautiful, handmade reclaimed wooden bar is available for use with venue rental. A licensed bartender must be used for all events serving hard liquor and for events with 35 or more guests. All alcohol must be provided by the bride and groom or catering company on the day of the event. Cafe style tables and reclaimed pallet wood benches are available for seating in the cocktail hour space. Please inquire about outdoor lounge furniture, available upon request.
Shave Ice Bar: After getting down on the dance floor, treat your guests to the island's favorite refreshing treat, a local Hawaiian style Shave Ice. One hour full-service shave ice station. Choose 3 signature flavors and create signature combinations.
The following toppings are offered: Snow Cap (condensed milk), Li-Hing Mui Powder, Vanilla Ice Cream $150 up to 25 servings $250 up to 50 servings
Coffee & Tea Bar: Offer Hot and/or iced coffee and tea bar upon arrival, for your early-bird guests or as a "pick-me-up" treat for after dinner and into the night. Serving everyone's favorite, premium, Kauai Coffee & Hawaiian Island Tea Co tea.
$150 up to 25 servings $250 up to 50 servings
Weather: Our venue is located on the beautiful, and lush, Windward coast of Oahu. Windward, passing showers, are common at our location. Most of our event spaces are is does not have many sheltered areas to provide protection from wind and rain. Please take into consideration the weather, especially during our rainy season, when planning your event. If no event tent is reserved, the use of our gift shop and lobby area may be required. We have a 20’ x 50’ covered (silver tarp) area in the middle of our nursery that could also be used as an alternative to open spaces. Waiahole Nursery staff will make the ultimate call of whether or not to move the party to the back-up location, if there is no event tent.
To hold your venue space we require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
A final, non-refundable, payment of the balance is due in full 30 days prior to the event.
We accept payment in the form of cash, business checks, and these credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express.
Returned checks will result in a $35 fee.
You will receive a detailed price quote during the planning stages and an itemized invoice for your records. Please know that quotes are good for up to three months, and some prices are subject to change due to season and availability.
Prices are subject to change due to seasonal availability and/or market conditions without notice. However, we will make every effort to keep you informed of changes and give you the opportunity to adjust your order, accordingly! We are here for you.
Cancellation and Refunds:
No cancellations or refunds are offered. We are always happy to reschedule your event to a future date, depending on availability.
We will make every effort to help you reschedule your event to a later date if we are notified in writing of the cancellation 30 days prior to the event.
What we require from you:
50% non-refundable deposit
List of vendors. (We must interview and approve all vendors who are not listed as preferred vendors on our website. All vendors must list Waiahole Nursery & Garden Center as additionally insured on their general liability insurance).
Private security is required if there will be alcohol served other than a “champagne toast” (beer is also permitted without security for groups of 25 or less people).
Pricing & Packages: Weddings with more than 10 guests or all weddings serving hard liquor require 3rd party event insurance. Average insurance is an additional $180 for the day. Prices include all taxes and cleaning fees.
All couples who book the venue at Waiahole Nursery will receive a 15% discount on rehearsal dinner & bridal shower packages.
All couple will receive a 20% discount on all flowers for ceremony and reception when booking your floral collections with The Florist at Waiahole Nursery. If you also book your rehearsal dinner with us, we will use some of your wedding-day flowers to decorate your rehearsal dinner at no additional charge.
Private Elopement- Ceremony & Photo shoot $400.00 (add $50 for beach ceremony) Bride, Groom, Officiant, and one witness. 1-2 hours. *No day-of coordinator is required for this package if you book one of our preferred photographers that know our event space and venue protocols.
Deluxe Elopement- $800 (add $50 for beach ceremony) Bride, Groom, Officiant, and up to 10 guests. 1-3 hours. Includes ceremony, photo shoot with photographer, private space for light pupus (chuetery board), small wedding cake, cake cutting and champagne toast (alcohol must be provided by couple)
Garden Dream Wedding- $3200 Up to 75 guests. 3-6 hours. Access to bride/groom suite to collect belongings up until 11:00pm. (All other guests must leave the property by 10:15pm)
Deluxe Garden Dream Wedding- $3600 Up to 75 guests. 3-6 hours. After-hours access to bride and groom suite, with over-night accommodations in groom suite bedroom. If traveling with children under 21, the bridal suite is available for an over-night stay for the kids. Continental breakfast is provided in the morning (Oatmeal, papaya half, pastries, juice, bottled water, coffee) Check-Out before 1:00 pm the following day.
